Well it looks like good ol’ Joe isn’t heading to smog town in Southern California. The New York Yankees have offered their skipper’s position to ex-Yank Joe Girardi after news circulated that he had turned down a Los Angeles Dodgers managing position [Ed. Note: Thank bejeezus. Suckers.]. Hold on to your striped Yankee fans.
“The Yankees have offered Joe the opportunity to become their next manager,” Steve Mandell, Girardi’s agent, told ESPN.com. “Discussions are ongoing.”
You think their discussing how the hell to fill a third base, 154 RBI, 54 HR gap in the lineup? See, we cared about this for a few moments. But then we realized that like most over-priced snob-o-latious teams, this will probably turn into a circus in the next few days. So we’ll save our energy when the Steinbrenners start making this guy jump through fiery hoops.
