Let’s ask a simple question. What would you pay a player who has zero, nada, zilch games in the World Series; and has a mediocre .276 career post-season batting average? Sources report that agent Scott Boras and Alex Rodriguez sought $350million dollars from the New York Yankees in a bid to make A-Rod the Sultan of baseball. When Steinbrenner Sr.’s lackeys told him to shove it, the duo moved on. The Yanks were willing to extend the deal by ensuring Rodriguez of $150million over five more years, seeing as the guy was pouting and all. The math? It would have given him $230million fat bucks and a lot of respect. Maybe we should get English Premier League’s UK Sports Minister to weigh in on this one. Now is this what teams are expected to pay for a guy whose as dormant in October as rain clouds are in Los Angeles? Oh, shit. We think we found a match.
