Henk Ten Cate (awesome!) has denied rumors that he’s trying to court FC Barcelona midfielder Ronaldinho from Catalunya. Ten Cate was once part of the Frank Rijkaard (Barca head coach) squad in 2005, so he’s got some inside leverage when it comes to whispering sweet somethings. He says he hasn’t even spoken to “Dinho” in 12 months, but reports released today says they’ve been swapping calls for months. Not so, says Ten Cate.
“A newspaper has written that I have spoken with Ronaldinho to bring him to Chelsea,” he said. “This is a big lie. It is false, totally false. I want to call a press conference so that everyone knows this. It is a lie — and what’s worse is that the journalist sent me a message saying that they were going to publish the story and I told them it was not true, that it was a lie.”
How dare they! Those bastards! We’ll clear it up by citing an unnamed source who relinquished information that meetings have been taking place on the rooftop of Gaudi’s Casa Mila around midnight every third Thursday of the last four months. No really, go check it out if you don’t believe us.

I heard Barcelona was going to trade Ronaldinho to the University of Kentucky for a race horse and bucket of carrots.
