We came across the November edition of England’s Esquire mag and smack on the cover was Brazilian star Kaká. When it comes to a supermodel’s life, the AC Milan star is taking steps to join the ranks of the Ronaldos and Beckhams in the soccer world. The common thread seems to be, “Multi-million dollar soccer contract, endorsements, and, of course, becoming the next fashion icon.” It’s truly a fine life if you’re as good as Kaká. If his stature continues to progress, he may be shooting movies with Italian rappers in the near future. We’re not holding our breath on that.

Turns out Kaká’s life is governed by the man upstairs and he’s quite proud of it as Esquire highlights that the Brazilian star is usually sporting an “I belong to Jesus” t-shirt under his jersey.

But don’t think he pimps out his savior to help him out on the pitch. Kaká never tries to involved Jesus when it comes to winning a game, as witnessed when AC Milan saw their coveted 3-0 lead over Liverpool in the 2005 Champions’ League final quickly vanish:

“That’s exactly why you don’t pray for victory…Who are we to demand of God that he gets involved in a football match like that?”

Tell that to a compulsive gambler who is praying to God more than a nun on a Sunday afternoon that his team wins. But what about playing in Italy? As it turns out, Kaká never let the glamor of the Italian game riddle him with fear:

“I knew that I had to adapt to Europeans football. After all, I was one man, it was not going to adapt to me. At the same time, I knew they signed me because I brought something different to the table, and I had to maintain that.”

Since then, AC Milan have been holding onto Kaká like Europeans and faux-hawks.

“…In addition to being a global ambassador of Adidas, modeling for Armani and advertising biscuits in Italy, Kaká has also worked as an Ambassador Against Hunger for the UN’s World Food Programme.”

Will a non-profit “Biscuit Aid For Africa” be in the works for Kaká? We’ll keep you tuned in.

What is indisputable is that fashionista stardom is no longer segregated to Italian flair; or David Beckham. Because as long as you “belong to Jesus”, do it with style, and keep the kids fed, then the sky is the limit.
