Liverpool FC head coach Rafa Benitez has been in hot water ever since he called out his American owner bosses for being cheapskates. He demanded some extra dough to pick up some players during the Winter transfer window, but Liverpool owners balked at the assertion, declaring that they wouldn’t release a figure until Liverpool made it to the next round of the Champions League. Benitez went crazy, but he’s got an explanation.

“My relationship with them was good before. Now we need to talk about the problem and move on. Maybe my English is not that good, maybe that was the problem. But it is clear we have to understand the situation and talk to each other. Maybe we should talk now and analyse the situation. But it is easier to talk face-to-face rather than to send e-mails or talk by phone.”

You know how many times our emails and gchat messages are misinterpreted? And we’re edumucated. Liverpool’s 4-1 pummeling of FC Porto on Tuesday probably helped Benitez chances of acquiring someone valuable. At least he gets to keep his job for another week. Maybe two.
