We always here of the small town kid heading to the big city to fulfill his/her dreams. But unless you’re a cracked out nature freak, or hippie, the progression of the big city kid doesn’t involve any dreams that concern mediocre English clubs small town living. So why in the world would Tottenham Hotspurs new head honcho Juande Ramos think a goalkeeper of Iker Casillas caliber would be interested in his team? Well, he has around 40million reasons why.

Tottenham’s new manager Juande Ramos has his eye on Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas for next season, and the club is ready to pay a record 40 million euros for the Spanish international, a Spanish newspaper said Thursday.

And this is what you hear when a big name player gets an offer from a wee-little club.

“Nobody has said anything to me about a supposed offer from an English team, but in any case I am very clear on what I want - and that is to be at Real Madrid.”

No “I’m flattered”, “I’m grateful”, “thanks for the interest” jibe here. It’s like the hottie at the bar shooting down the guy who finally built up enough courage, only to get the “I’m sorry, but no” smirk and turn of the head. Isn’t there a Lehmann rotting away somewhere in England? Pick him up.
