We think the 6-14 Knicks should end the season prematurely and lend out Madison Square Garden to Rage Against The Machine and Led Zeppelin reunions. It would be fair to all of us who’ve had to endure their pitiful season. Yesterday’s latest Isiah tirade solidified that Knicks’ management has gone loony. It’s basically the end of the road when you start blaming the fans for manipulating the team’s psyche enough to make them miss lay-ups. Seriously Isiah? In his defense, The New York Times published comments today establishing that NBA commissioner David Stern is a wizard.
“It demonstrates that they’re not a model of intelligent management,” Stern told ESPN… “There were many checkpoints along the way where more decisive action would have eliminated this issue.” Stern never disclosed whether he might sanction the Knicks. “But,” he noted ominously…“my powers are very broad, if I choose to exercise them.”
They obviously include alchemy and manipulating the draft lottery next year so the Knicks stay in bball purgatory. Ok, the latter is the likelier, and these comments are from October, but you gotta wonder: what the hell is going on at the Garden?
