Maybe trading away Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis wasn’t such a great idea. This past weekend, the Florida Marlins opened up Dolphin Stadium for their “Select A Seat” day, but less than fifty fans showed up to pick out their season tickets for next season. Jesus, more people were sitting with us during a midweek showing of El Cantante.
Few, it seemed, were in the mood for stuffing their stockings with Marlins tickets.
[Marlins coach] Fredi Gonzalez was to have lunch with everyone who purchased season tickets on Saturday, but the turnout provided for a potentially lonely meal. By the time Olsen arrived after noon, a line of about 20 fans had formed for the young pitcher’s autograph. But few bought season tickets.
That’s so sad. We can just image Gonzalez looking at the fans… them staring back and him… in silence. He deserves a raise just for not quitting right there, but then again, these are the Marlins.

Someone find a fucking Getty image of this. I bet his face was great when he saw only 20 fans!

What’s happening with Miami sports teams playing in that heinous stadium sucking?

I’m blaming it on the 83 degrees year round.
