Albert Pujols Knows How To Carry A Grudge

It’s been a little more than an month since the Mitchell Report came out. And since the initial uproar, there hasn’t been much from the media about the involved players other than the coverage of Roger Clemens’ attempts to clear his name. Unfortunately for Albert Pujols, he’s also trying to clear his name. The thing is he was never in the report, just a widely circulated list that wasn’t official… but which a TV station in St. Louis ran with, anyway. Now, Pujols is running them out of every place he can—possibly with a bat. You never know when confronted by roided angry people.

Albert Pujols, angry his name was incorrectly linked to the Mitchell Report on steroids last month, banned a St. Louis television station from participating in a news conference Monday.
On Dec. 13, KTVI broadcast an incorrect report, citing information posted on the Web site of New York television station WNBC, that linked Pujols and other players to the Mitchell Report.
He said he will not take legal action but expressed disappointment that he wasn’t given the benefit of the doubt.
“Since 2001, I’ve been proving myself every year,” he said. “How much better can I get? Only God knows. Do I need to cheat in this game to get better? This is a hobby, man. I fear God too much to do stupid things in this game. Cheating on this game, that’s not right.”

No one gets the benefit of the doubt anymore Albert, not even a God-fearing man. Just be happy they think you’re good enough that the only conclusion could be you took steroids. It’s the best (back-handed) compliment you can get nowadays.
