Remember a few months back when we mentioned that 5th division English club Ebbsfleet United was up for sale? Well, the internet geeks have won out and are now 96% shareholders of the club. The internet is abuzz with most outlets praising this as groundbreaking and great. We say it’s stupid. Anyone can buy a team, but not everyone can manage one. Just look at Liverpool owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett, or Chelsea megalomaniac Roman Abramovich. They’re dumbasses. Nobody appears to give a damn and now MyFootballClub.com is famous.
Almost 96pc of members voted in favour of the takeover, while almost 96pc voted to allow the manager, former Irish international Liam Daish, to continue with any plans he has for the January players transfer window. It is a landmark decision for football, and the deal provoked an angry reaction from some Ebbsfleet fans when the takeover was proposed in November. They were concerned that their club will become little more a plaything for 20,000 outsiders.
In the next few days, members of MyFootballClub will decide whether the club should employ a new kit manufacturer and if so, they will be able to select home and away shirt designs.
Fine. We’ll join the party. First thing is first: we totally call dibs on advertising on the thigh. Yup, Machochip’s logo right along the right thigh would look sweet. Maybe a bold “WWW” on the front and a…hmm…”Girls Gone Wild” logo on the back? The Daily Telegraph “has bought a share in MyFootballClub.com and intends to continue following the story as it develops.” Hey boss, go get us some Ebbsfleet shares, will ya?

You know there is another outfit doing something very similar. Going by the name of thepeoplesclub.com you can have a say in who they buy ! They seem like the kind of guys who would be interested in imaginative advertising
