Mexican international goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has been forthright about his chance to get the hell out of Mexico. His persistent attempts to entice European clubs with his unrestrained, open-armed salutations are easy to mock…but they seem to be working. Terra reports that Ochoa’s agent has been in contact, consistently, with La Liga club Atletico Madrid and they might actually be listening.
It should be considered that his departure to Atletico Madrid is only speculation because “[Atletico Madrid officials] haven’t spoken to America,” his Mexican club. Regarded as the best goalkeeper in Mexico, Ochoa affirmed that he’s dependent on Club America’s support…”[The transfer] is something that could be resolved in hours or it could take until th Summer.”
Obviously this would be bad for America. But, knowing speedy Andres Guardado (Deportivo La Coruna) would be pinned up against compatriot Ochoa during La Liga’s regular season would be great. And Spain isn’t so foreign. They speak Spanish, drink loads of booze and both countries share a fascination with rattail haircuts. It’s perfect, really.
