The San Diego Union-Tribune (belch) reported on a Lucha Libre Gourmet Taco Shop that opened up shop last Saturday to the applause and enthusiasm of overgrown adolescents and carnivores. The Lucha Libre inspired eatery is dolled up in all kinds of Mexican wrestling gear. But the biggest highlight of the restaurant isn’t it’s murals of leotard touting Lucha Libre stars. The introduction of the “T.J. Dog” to San Diego’s coastal community is what’s getting all the raves. We can relate to the excitement. When a stout El Salvadorian lady propped up her hot dog cart in front of our Historic Filipinotown apartment in Los Angeles last year, we almost kissed her bacon-wrapped breath. It’s true. Because we have the highest standards ever, San Diego, along with it’s famous California burritos, should be named the greatest place to eat…ever. Send us some reviews and pictures if you want, a bacon-wrapped hot dog overnight express if you wish.
