How and why any English club would allow Diego Maradona to set foot on English territory is beyond. But, what the hell do we know? Diego made a cameo this weekend at Chesea FC’s camp because, well, he had nothing else to really do now that he’s on the wagon.

Maradona is regarded as one of the greatest players ever to take the field. He almost single-handedly, no pun intended, led Argentina to World Cup glory in 1986 and also had a glittering club career. Maradona, who has fought a battle with drug addiction, made a surprise trip to Chelsea’s Cobham training ground and spent some time talking tactics with Avram Grant.

Tactics included hand checks, hand passes and all sorts of savvy hand signals. Can we just focus on the fact that the great Setanta sports couldn’t steer clear of a cocaine reference when it came to mentioning Diego Maradona? That’s awesome.
