Mexico’s roster for the 2008 sub-23 tournament (don’t email us to tell us the picture ISN’T the sub-23) will be revealed later today, with speculations that Giovani Dos Santos, Andres Guardado, Carlos Vela and Hector Moreno are the elite youngsters spearheading the cast of players. Guillermo Ochoa is also set to thrive for “El Tri”, revitalizing notions that he is the new face of Mexico’s goalkeeping.

Other noteables that may make the roster include: Patricio Araujo (Guadalajara) y Efraín Velarde (Pumas), los volantes Jorge Hernández (Atlas) y Edgar Andrade (Cruz Azul), además de los delanteros César Villaluz (Cruz Azul) y Enrique Esqueda (América).

Nery Castillo, barely missing the age limit by a mere 8 months, won’t participate, but damn that would have made an amazing edition to the cast. The sub-23 tournament, intended to take place as a precursor for Beijing 2008, will commence the 6th of February in Houston, Texas.
