The Roger Clemens 60 Minutes interview in which he possibly revealed to have been a cokehead was on last night, and it’s hard to say we respect the man any more this morning. Not only did he reject the notion that he took steroids at all because then he’d have extra orifices coming out of his head (more on this later), but he also denied knowing anything was up with his best bud Andy Pettite. With whom he forged a brotherly bond with in New York. And he recruited to join him in Houston. And shared the trainer who gave Pettitte the HGH the pitcher admits to using. Man, at this rate, it’s going to be easier for Clemens to admit he’s gay than admitting taking HGH.

McNamee told Mitchell he injected Pettitte with HGH in 2002. Pettitte issued a statement saying he took two HGH injections while rehabbing his elbow. “I had no knowledge of what Andy was doing,” Clemens said.

Asked why McNamee would tell the truth about Pettitte and lie about Clemens, Clemens said Pettitte’s case was “totally separate… I was shocked to learn about Andy’s situation,” Clemens said. “Had no idea about it.”

“If he’s doing that to me, I should have a third ear coming out of my forehead,” Clemens said… “I should be pulling tractors with my teeth.”

Sorry Roger, if you were roided up at 22, you could pull tractors with your teeth. At 41, you’re going to have to settle for going 13-8 with 185 strikeouts and a 1.84 ERA.
