There’s been much speculation over the last year as to whether FC Barcelona midfielder Ronaldinho was actually fit enough to be playing professional football. Photographs of the former World Player of the Year captured a thicker than usual waistline on Ronaldinho and fans, sports writers and media circuits all raved on that Ronaldinho’s poor form had more to do with love-handles, than with a natural slump.

Hot off the Cronica Viva presses, the Peruvian newspaper profiled Ronaldinho’s abs yesterday, citing that Ronnie’s been quite the exhibitionist the last two games, discarding his jersey during halftime so all can see his physique.

“During training, the Barcelona playmaker contested critics who claimed he was fat by taking off his shirt for reporters to show off his abs, all of which were free from fat.”

With the grease pocket reportedly gone, the feud between Ronnie and manager Frank Rijkaard should be dissolved into a murky tub of lard. Now if only they could find a way to convince Carlos Puyol to trim that mangy hair.
