Eduardo Da Silva Speaks In Tongues

The Daily Mail has an interesting break down of the moments following Martin Taylor’s malicious attack on Eduardo Da Silva’s fibula. We already know Da Silva’s foot was a dangle and snip away from complete dislocation, but apparently the Croatian began to “ramble” in his native Portuguese because he was in shock. Does this mean we’ll revert to Spanglish if WE go into shock?

How, as Lewin raced on to the St Andrew’s pitch with Eduardo in agony he:
  • Quickly realised the next 45 minutes would determine the striker’s future.
  • Was immediately faced with a player in shock and rambling in his native Portuguese.
  • Had to summon Brazilian Gilberto from the bench to act as a translator.
  • Realised that if the striker was not operated on immediately there was a serious risk of infection because his bone had punctured his skin.

Doesn this sound like a Ridley Scott thriller if Ridley Scott directed soap operas that concentrated on sports?
