Mexico And The USA To Get Down And Dirty, But Who Do YOU Cheer For?

Mexico%20V%20Usa.jpg

First thing’s first: Yahoo is reporting that the friendly between Mexico and the USA at Reliant Stadium tonight in Houston, Texas will go on as planned at 21:00EST. Yet, ESPN asserts that the match has been postponed (probably a douchebag intern screwing with edits) until tomorrow, Feb. 7th. Hey readers, if you’ve got some tips as to who is telling the truth, then let us know.

Now let us pretend the game is happening tonight. The Mexicans hold the cumulative lead at 29-14-10, but the USA is 12-7-7 since 1990 and it doesn’t look like they are digressing any time soon. Mexico’s Giovani Dos Santos is who we all want to see, but he’ll be lacking some reinforcements. Andres Guardado and Nery Castillo are both out to injury and it’s a pity because with them on the pitch, the United States would catch a glimpse of what is facing them for the next several years. Guardado’s pace, coupled with Nery’s ability to capture any ball passed his way, would have been amazing to watch.

We don’t know about you, but we’ve always been troubled by one consistent struggle: who the heck do we cheer for? Hey, we grew up with Mexican colors embroidered on our chest. But, the United States, the country we’re 100% a part of, is steadily climbing the rankings as a wonderful, attack-minded team to watch. If we could cheer for both teams, then we would. But only pansy-minded cop outs do that. So readers, obviously this question is geared towards the Mexican-American bunch: who do you cheer for when the United States takes on Mexico?

Just in case you were wondering what the predictions are on the web, we found this bad boy a few minutes ago.

Ummm Mexico.

But the eds probably go for the US.

Just like how they traded their Dodger Blue for the Yankee Pinstripes….

so true

El Tricolor. Hands down.

I grew up following their exploits in World Cups growing up when the U.S. wasn’t even fielding a team back in the 80s.

oh the US was there, and it was all the wetbacks, I mean latinos, who carried the team to their eventual return in Italy. Now what happen? The US has turn their back on them, where is the future Hugo Perez, Tab Ramos, Marcelo Balboa, Fernando Clavijio, Ruben Mendoza?

I meant the early 80s. Like 1982.

But you’ve gots that knowledge of incognito Latinos in the American system, latinogamer, I give you that.

thank you chorcho, that means a lot!

I would of done an edit to a previous comment, imagine mexico losing tonight on ash wednesday….pobre virgen de guadalupe cause she is going to get cursed at tonight…..
