We aren’t fans of Serie A for reasons that hardly need disclosure. So we’re ecstatic to report that Arsenal FC of the Thierry Henry-less variety, have just ousted reigning champions AC Milan 2-0 in the “last 16” stage of the Champions League. Cesc Fabegas sealed the deal in the 84th minute and Emmanuel Adebayor put the game out of reach in the 90th minute of the match. Arsenal are the first English team to beat AC Milan in the San Siro; and for christsakes it’s about time somebody did.
Then, out of nothing, Fabregas won it with a superb solo goal. The midfielder picked up the ball, sidestepped Gennaro Gattuso and drilled his strike into the bottom right corner. Adebayor scored a second in added time, following a fine run and low cross from Walcott along the goal-line, to cap a magnificent night for the Gunners.
Here’s the highlight clip for those that missed it.
Looks like AC Milan can now concentrate on that brilliant domestic season they have going for them. Oh. Snap.

Damn. It would have been great to see Kaka and CR going at it in the final.
