Carlos Lee Is Mad For Cows

Carlos Lee, the Houston Astros’ Panamanian slugger, really knows how to negotiate clauses into his contract. Most players angle for a jacuzzi in their hotel room or fake urine by the gallon-full—Lee asked for time off from spring training to attend a cattle show back in Texas. Luckily he doesn’t still play in Milwaukee to tempt a certain new vegetarian.

One of the best Brahman breeders in South America, Lee will likely purchase some cattle again this year. His wife, Mary, also is excited about attending the rodeo a year after Lee participated in the Grand Entry.
“Ranching and riding horses is what I do all off-season,” he said. “That’s what ranchers I know in the Houston area do every day. I’ll try to visit with them.”
“It’s still a good opportunity because I like the competition. What I’m more worried about is getting good animals in Panama and improving the genetics of the breed there.”

Isn’t what the Nazis were doing in The Boys From Brazil? That sounds unethical. Maybe Carlos should just get some tips from Roger Clemens on how to build a better bull.

Thanks… because I couldn’t tell who the Panamanian ball player was before you put the arrow up…

Are those the cows?
