Deadspin kingpin Will Leitch uncovered a source that offers some spoilers from Jose Cansesco’s new book: “Vindicated: Big Names, Big Liars, and The Battle to Save Baseball.” (They may take our lives, but they will never take our freedom!) Sorry. A Bostonian named Joe Lavin purchased a copy of the book at a Boston bookstore after it was accidentally released. Lavin reveals some names, quotes and points of interest that we’d love to share with you. Because there isn’t anything more entertaining then a staunch juicer ratting out his former colleagues. Some of the names after the jump:
In here, Canseco accuses three more players of using steroids, and they are: Magglio Ordonez
Roger Clemens
Alex Rodriguez
Well, it’s about time someone confirmed it. So, Magglio didn’t invest in that soft porn project, ey? When it comes to Alex Rodriguez, Lavin says on his blog:
As for Alex Rodriguez, Canseco says he didn’t inject Rodriguez, but that he “introduced Alex to a known supplier of steroids.” Canseco didn’t mention Rodriguez in the first book because he “hated the bastard.” He was worried that people would have “questioned [his] motives” had he included Rodriguez
Apparently, Rodriguez persistently hounded Jose Canseco’s wife, leading the ex-Bash Brother to believe he wanted nothing more than to sleep with her. Subsequentially, Canseco added a fitting tribute to A-Rod.
So A-Rod, if you’re reading this book, and if I’m not getting through to you, let’s get clear on one thing: I hate your fucking guts.
Enough said.
