Reports around the not-always-true internets are binging on the news that Scientology wizard Tom Cruise and David Beckham are in cahoots to purchase a soccer team in the not so distant future. Not to suppress excitement, but should Becks be worrying about his Galaxy afterlife considering he’s still trying to establish a rep in LA? It’s like talking about your ex with the new girl you’re dating. Good luck making her a fan. It’s a mundane topic, we know, but, like, what’s the deal with this dude anyway?
A source said: “David has often spoken of his desire to concentrate on his youth soccer academies, rather than a career in management when he retires from the game.”“A high-profile soccer venture with a Hollywood superstar would also give him back some of the credibility he surely feels he lost after fleeing prestigious Real Madrid for a megabucks deal in the U.S.”
Beckham and Cruise hope their star status will attract some of the world’s top players although it is not known whether they would buy a club in the U.K. or the U.S.
The “Galactico” era revived. How novel. Maybe they can get Diego Maradona to come back and play. He’s still high-profile, right?
