Not since EA dropped that damned “QB sight” from the Madden football series has a development been met with such overwhelming applause. Of course, we’re talking about the news that after every touchdown in next year’s game, the player (you) will be able to control the player (the digitized one) in doing one of many touchdown dances. So no more lame running mans or even lamer lightly tossing the ball to the ref, just lots of breakdancing, pointing and (please God) props.

Not only will unique players have unique celebrations, but different “Hot Spots” in the end zone will feature different celebrations, as well, like dunking over the goal post or hot-shotting in the corner of the end zone. Specific stadiums will even feature their own local celebrations. Can you say, “Lambeau Leap?”

We’ve also been told that an extra “hidden” control will let you steal an opponent’s celebration so you can really rub it in. However, you’ll have to discover that one on your own.

That’s cool and all, but is there a Legends category where we can unlock past dances? Just the idea of Adrian Peterson doing the Ickey Shuffle makes us put our pre-order money down now.
