Loud mouth White Sox coach Ozzie Guillen could never imagine working under New York Yankees owner Hank Steinbrenner. Frankly, we don’t think anyone will ever attest to Hank Steinbrenner’s ownership as pleasant. The guy’s a troll from the marshlands of hell. Ahem. In an interview with the Chicago Tribune, Ozzie Guillen showered his boss with praise by calling White Sox owner Jerry Residorf his…father?
“But thank God Jerry Reinsdorf is my owner,” Guillen said. “And besides my owner, he’s my father. He’s one of the best friends of my life. Steinbrenner is just being Steinbrenner, and that’s what he is.”
Um, Daniel. You’re not my father. But you’re totally swell, dude. Guillen continued gushing.
“Whoever is wearing that [Yankees] uniform has to be aware where they come from,” Guillen said. “[Steinbrenner] has the way to push his players. This man has the way to say stuff to make his players better. He may throw people under the bus…It’s the opposite here in Chicago. The owner here is always protecting my [rear].”
We’ll leave the homosexually charged innuendo out of the conversation and simply state that if there’s anyone to tackle The Devil, Grendel, The Anti-Christ, Hank Steinbrenner, it’s Ozzie Guillen. Does this make him, like, an archangel or something?
