Someone needs to smack MLB referees for blowing yet another call during a game. Alex Rodriguez was robbed of his virginity of a homerun last night during the Yankees game against Baltimore. It appeared that a hard hit flyball had careened off the right-centerfield wall, but replays showed the ball had hit a staircase that was well beyond the height of the outfield wall. Last Sunday, Carlos Delgado of the Mets was denied a HR after the ball struck a foul pole, but was declared a foul ball. We’re not hear to cheer for either player, but if baseball is ademant about getting things right in the post-steroid era, then employing instant-replays may be something invaluable. Can you just think of the uproar this would cause during an ALCS game? Riots everywhere, man! Video of the Rod-man getting denied, after the jump.
