Jay-Z Hopes To Bring His Lucky Streak To The New Jersey Nets

Tonight is the NBA draft lottery selection, where the executives for the 14 crappiest teams are sequestered into a studio that looks like somewhere Al Queda would host the Price Is Right. It’s usually the same elderly, moribund execs in the seats (see: Clippers owner Donald Sterling), but this year it’s going to be a little different. That’s because the New Jersey Nets (who will soon be the Brooklyn Nets) will be represented by their part-owner Sean Carter, better known to us as Jay-Z.

Nets investor and music executive Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter will represent the Nets at the NBA Draft Lottery… Carter will be one of 14 team representatives to be seated on the stage when NBA Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver announces the winning order of teams participating in the Draft Lottery.
“This is very exciting and I hope my nickname ‘Lucky Lefty’ holds up,” said Carter.

If Jay-Z wants to take that “Best Rapper Alive” shtick away from Lil’ Wayne and get some front office cred, he should freestyle using only the teams there, where they place and the latest draft predictions. We’d love to see what he can rhyme with Luc Richard Mbah a Moute.

Hova needs to bring some of that luck to building their stadium in Brooklyn. Some of use moved three blocks from the proposed stadium to watch the Lakers sometime soon, you know…
