Chicago Cubs’ sensation Kosuke Fukudome was profiled on this week’s Sports Illustrated cover with the words “It’s Gonna Happen: Kosuke Fukudome can end the Cubs’ 100-year wait.” slabbed right underneath his lovely name. Of course, the Chicago Cubs’ can no longer evade a possible derailing at some point this season, and Kosuke Fukudome (yeah, we’ll spell that out each time) should proceed with caution around puddles, oil spills and anything with a sharp edge because injury will haunt him like death in “Final Destination.”

Rather than mull over the possibility of an SI hex, or jinx to infiltrate his game, Kosuke played it off with some preposterous declaration that he’s never even heard about Sports Illustrated! Pfft. Video of his interview after jump.
