Randy Moss Gets His Futbol On To Prepare For The Season

Could the missing element that prevented the New England Patriots from going undefeated last season be… a soccer ball? Pats’ wide-out Wes Welker has just only introduced super-human receiver Randy Moss to his futbol-inclusive workouts that he’s used since high school to improve his foot speed and technique. Of course, the six-time Pro-Bowler Moss has taken to the regiment and is hoping to glide his big frame down the field like John Terry… oh. Sorry. Bad example.

Welker shared with Moss that he believed his background in soccer was a big part of it. He started playing fútbol when he was 4 years old, and continued through his senior year at Heritage Hall High School in Oklahoma City.
Welker still keeps a soccer ball close by, and regularly uses it as part of his football training. He juggles it between his feet, not allowing it to touch the ground. Sometimes it’s the simple skill of possessing the ball, on the ground, with the bottom of his feet. Or he’ll dribble it between his feet as he surges up and down the field, focusing on short, quick cuts.

Hm, we don’t know. If we were Welker, we’d be showing Moss how the soccer players are sometimes able to use their heads to progress with the ball.
