As the seconds ticked off last night’s 100-92 Lakers’ victory, propelling them into the Finals, Los Angeles’ Sasha Vujacic made a three-pointer that had a Butterfly Effect that was felt all across the nation, not to mention in front of his own face. A lot was made on the TNT telecast about Michael Finley of the Spurs giving him a stink-eye as the pointless shot went in. But it pales in comparison to what plenty of gamblers would give him if they ran across him on a night out.

Not only is Vujacic a dick for taking that shot (I would have have done more than give him a look like Finley did), but someone ask me what the spread for the game was? Go ahead ask…. Lakers by 7 and a half points.

Amazing. Did you hear that collective gasp? That was probably half of the attendees at the Sportsbooks in Vegas just passing out.

We’ve been there, and that’s no gasp, and not even a human sound. It was the sound of the vacuum created in thousands of bank accounts at once.
