Last time we checked, overturning goals twenty minutes after the goal took place isn’t customary protocol in most leagues. But in the Vietnamese league, there isn’t anything standard or customary when it comes to the rules. Because if you score a goal, celebrate and all four refs agree on that goal, then there is still the possibility the goal won’t stand.

A referee in the Vietnamese soccer league has been suspended for four matches for awarding a goal and then changing his mind, local media reported.

Referee Nguyen Xuan Hoa was reprimanded by the country’s soccer federation for bowing to pressure from Danang, whose furious players stormed off the field after conceding a goal to Dong Tam Long An last week.

The Danang team returned 20 minutes later after Hoa reversed his decision and went on to win the game 3-2.

Ta da! Oddly, the quartet of refs wasn’t suspended and fined for the incident. They were reprimanded for failing to divulge the mistake in their match reports. It’s like when we forget to tell Daniel we posted boobie pictures of Nereida Gallardo. He didn’t reprimand us for showing tetas; he was angry because he was the last one to see the hotness.
