Salzburg, Austria Is Hoping For A Lot Of Red Cards During Euro 2008

Oktobergurls.jpg

Fans in Salzburg, Austria are getting ready for Euro 2008 by putting little soccer balls in their store windows, dressing up in traditional Alpine garb and, of course, one little bar is saluting locals favorite pastime (drinking) by giving away free beer every time Italian defender Zambrotta gets kicked out of a game there is a red card delivered during the tournament.

One Salzburg bar is offering free drinks for every sending-off in a match and even Mozart’s house has a soccer ball and an Austria shirt in the window.

Unfortunately, we haven’t discovered which bar it is so the shredding of your Euros wasn’t a wise choice, Horatio. Now, tape those 50 Euro bills back together and count on paying $32 a stein on your cool backpackers excursion this summer. Remember you don’t have to tip.
