Unlike jackets that merely have a piece of reflective tape slapped on, this jacket has a series of built-in LEDs that light up “left turn” or “right turn.” Best of all, there’s complete how-to instructions on the designer’s Web site, so you can make your own.

And though it may seem like a silly design or concept, the people at Dyson—the guy’s a design guru—awarded a similar product an award a few weeks ago. Its simplicity, its genuine utility means it was worth its weight, well, in gold, but worth lauding.
