The Boston Red Sox got their fight club on when Coco Crisp leapt from the batter’s box in the second inning, charged the mound and displayed his best Pernell Whitaker impression. The benches cleared and all seemed calm after that, but Manny Ramirez was lusting for more. How much more? He went after his teammate Kevin Youkilis in the dugout and had to be sequestered to the locker room.
TV cameras showed Ramirez and Kevin Youkilis being separated after exchanging words in the dugout at the end of the fourth inning. Ramirez pointed at Youkilis before being escorted down the runway toward the clubhouse by trainer Paul Lessard and a few players. Boston Manager Terry Francona said emotions were still running hot after the brawl.
We’re not sure what the hell was going on in Boston last night, but with this extravagant display of bravado and Paul Pierce’s miraculous victory in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, it’s safe to say that absolutely nothing was going to detour Boston teams from winning. Video of both fisticuffs below.

I love that the guys on Baseball Tonight were like “Oh, but this is a good thing” about the dugout scuffle here, but when it wasn’t their precious Red Sox and beloved Manny last year, when it was Zambrano going after Barrett int he dugout with the Cubs, 100% different opinion. Their man-love for the AL East disgusts me sometimes.
