Not that the Russian national soccer team needs help securing the ladies (especially the soon to be very wealthy at Chelsea Andrei Arshavin), but wealthy socialite Pyotr Listerman has made an offer to Arshavin. For every goal a team member scores in Euro 2008, Listerman will present two lovely ladies when they get back to the mother land. Hey, it’s just like the offer the MachoChip bosses made to the editors. Well substitute “goals” and “scores” with “posts” and “writes,” and “two lovely ladies” with “pellets of food in our cage.”

Listerman, known for setting up rich Russians with wives, said: “For each goal I’ll present two beautiful chicks. Watch the guys react.”

Andrei, set to star in tonight’s semi-final against Spain, said: “There are a number of bachelors in our team. This is a great incentive.”

Other incentives countries have offered over the years:

• Colombia: For every score the goalie allows, the keeper gets two more bullets put into him.
• England: For every goal scored is another month the player’s WAG doesn’t show up topless in a “lad mag.”
• USA: For every… ah, no one cares.
