





Notorious ball shrinker supplier Victor Conte accused Roger Clemens (and other athletes) of taking Viagra as a resource for counteracting the effects of steroids. Now the WADA is investigating if Viagra can actually enhance an athlete’s stamina in extremely polluted environments such as Beijing because of the pill’s ability to increase blood flow to muscles. We aren’t sure how this can help anyone since the pill concentrates on one particular muscle, but proceed Mr. Scientist.
A spokesman told BBC Sport: “Wada is monitoring this substance.“It is currently funding a research project on the performance-enhancing potential at various altitudes.”
Sildenafil citrate drugs such as Viagra are intended to alleviate erectile dysfunction but Wada is conducting research into the drug to discover if it also enhances athletic performance with the results expected next year.
