Of course there was going to be an impassioned reporter waiting at the helm of Cristiano Ronaldo’s red carpet strut yesterday, ready to ask that question we’ve all wanted answered over the last few months: “Hey Cristiano. You thinking of transferring to the…Galaxy?” Cristiano replied with the only reply his Vicadin-skewed logic would allow:

“I have time, I prefer to play in Europe,” he said. “It’s better in the moment, but in the future, no one knows.” Of the female adulation he is receiving stateside, he jokingly replied: “Love you, no maybe because I play good football.”

Yes, of course. Pimpersticken fingerstrut on the blue havana of our time. What? Exactly. He continued.

“Beckham and Abel Xavier play there [Galaxy] and I spoke with [Xavier] a few times and he says it’s great to play here. Maybe, maybe in the future you never know.”

Well, Xavier’s defensive skills have never impressed us. Which leads us to believe that he’s so ecstatic because he actually has a job. The only hope Galaxy fans can depend on stems from David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo’s comparable career choices. If he signs with Real Madrid, then LA can comfortably dream about a 33 year old Cristiano making his way to the Home Depot Center…sometime in 2018.
