The Cubbies have made it to the All-Star break currently 4.5 games atop the AL Central. You can imagine Chi-town is ecstatic at the thought of a possible World Series berth and victory. And they should be happy. It’s been 100 years since the Cubs won a World Series, which means myriad fans went years without a glimpse of glory from their favorite team. So, to remember those that boar the agony of defeat for years without ever feeling the comforts of victory (This is your cue to flip-off Boston fans, Chicago), Dennis Mascari has come to the rescue.

Mascari has joined forces with the cemetery to build for Chicago Cubs fans a final resting place that looks a lot like the spot where they saw their dreams of a pennant die year after year. The wall is expected to be up and ready to accept fans in October 2008.

That’s not the smell of rotting flesh, my friends. That’s the smell of a musky allegiance that can not be driven away by a century’s worth of defeat. Dennis Mascari, we salute you and your dying companions.
