Glen Kulka Is Like A Giant Deion Sanders

The most famous of multi-sport professionals are Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders. They epitomized the definition of athlete. Yet, Deion Sanders’ legacy impacts us a lot more when we realize the guy’s gone on to own an Arena football team, transcend into sportscasting, coach the Dallas Fury (assistant) and all the while he managed to put out two albums. (Didn’t Bo Jackson put out a blues record with Bo Diddley?) Now there’s Glen Kulka. The Canadian behemoth made his MMA debut this weekend after years of playing hockey, then football, then hockey and then a stint in WWF madness. Either the guy is amazing athlete or he’s trying to speed Alzheimer’s.

“I’m just one of those dudes that when someone says, ‘What the hell are you doing?’ I say, ‘I do it because I can,’ ” said Kulka, whose day job is sports-talk radio host on a station in Ottawa. “I’m challenging myself in an athletic way like I’ve done all my life.”

That’s the most liberating thing we’ve heard today. Now let us go serve ourselves a nice mug of Scotch because we can.

“I’ve been a team sport guy all my life, and the simplicity and the barbaric nature of two men enter, one man leaves appealed to me,” the Edmonton native said. “I’m in better shape now than when I was ever playing football.”

So how did he fair against Wayne “X Man” Xilon this weekend?

So when’s the album, “Nothin’ But Knees To The Head” getting released?
