Does Kobe Bryant need a hug? Almost two months after getting blown out by the Celtics in the NBA Finals, Kobe still hasn’t seemed to have gotten over it. How do we know? Because when the Olympian was asked which he’d prefer—Olympic Gold or an NBA title—he defended the Olympic side waaay too much. It was like he was defending his nice, quaint girlfriend to the crazy one who dumped him after years of dangerous sex and knife play. But this is Kobe we’re talking about, so maybe the analogy isn’t that analogous, if you catch our drift.
“You’re playing for your country, there’s more at stake. I think when you’re playing for the NBA championship, you’re actually playing for a brand, you’re playing for whatever motivation—proving people wrong or whatever,” he said.Yeah, whatever man, fuck the NBA, stupid no good bitches (sniff)… I never liked them anyway…
“When you put on a USA uniform, you’re playing for something bigger than all that. You’re representing your country, and our country is going up against the other country, trying to prove who’s best. For me, that holds more weight.”While we agree with the sentiment, we wonder if the reporter rephrased the question: “Kobe, would you rather have Olympic Gold or your first Shaq-less NBA title,” how fast Bryant would’ve chosen the latter.
