Manny Ramirez Is The World's Best Paid Factory Worker

Manny Ramirez, despite his recent foibles, has a place in everyone’s heart. That’s why were shocked when we read an interview on ESPN Deportes where he doesn’t shoot down the idea of going to the worst team any Red Sox fan can imagine. Could Beantown fans easily disown the most charismatic player in baseball like they did Johnny Damon when he split for a pinstriped uniform? His version of spin is that he’s just a cog in the world of baseball, a regular Joe who will work for any corporation that will pay him $20 million a year, half of which will be left in a glove compartment in a stack of uncashed checks.

You know I’m an employee, and I will go to any factory that needs me.
Even the one located in (gasp) The Bronx?
I’ve never thought about it because I’ve had a great career in Boston and my dream is to finish my career [with the Red Sox], but they are holding the option, not me. We’ll see what they decide.
You have to live life minute by minute, day by day. I thank God for my health, for having my parents alive and all the other things.

Yeah, like the fact that his amazing batting skills pretty much absolves him from getting reprimanded for fighting teammates and escaping prosecution for assaulting an old man. Yes Manny, thank God.
