So remember earlier in the day when we told you that Manny Ramirez was about to be dealt to Florida… yeah, he’s not. But he still has to pack his bags because he’s moving from Boston to Los Angeles. That’s right, the Dodgers have signed him in a three-team trade involving the Sox and the Pittsburgh Pirates, where Boston gets former Pirate and permanent Canadian Jason Bay and the Pitt gets a bunch of minor-league players… maybe enough to field an okay team in 10 years!
The Red Sox traded embattled slugger Manny Ramirez to the Dodgers late Thursday afternoon, SI.com has learned. Jason Bay is headed to Boston as part of the deal, SI.com has learned. The Pirates will get four minor leaguers in the three-way trade. The Red Sox went back-and-forth with the Marlins and Dodgers as the 4 p.m. ET deadline approached. Ramirez said earlier today, as first reported by SI.com, that he would accept a trade to any team.
So will the Dodgers go above .500 for the rest of the season now that they have the big bat the’ve needed since Kirk Gibson left town? Who knows, but we can’t wait until they find him wacked out on whatever off Sunset Blvd in three weeks.

Damn…Manny’s a Doyer…I can only guess what his life’s gonna be like. Any bets on where he’s going to wind up living? Thousand Oaks? Bel-Air? Sylmar? Sun Valley?

Manny hanging out on Sunset…I like it.
@pocho
He’s totally a West L.A. Cabo Cantina type of dude.

We should ask Gustavo Arrelano whether he would fit in in Laguna Niguel. That would be a tragedy.
Though, with Guerrero, I can totally see him sporting a house in Pacific Palisades or even Brentwood. Either way, he’s still going to have a shitty commute.

Don’t get used to him Dodger fans. Apparently the deal was accepted by Manny as long as the Doyers DON’T pick up his 2009 and 2010 options so he can be a free agent. So basically he’s a 2-month rental.
Enjoy him while it lasts.
/drinks tequila to wash away sorrows

@Bryant: So is Manny looking at a short term rental in one of those shady porn condos in the valley?
