Taekwondo matches during the Olympics are a flipping mystery to us. Unlike boxing, Taekwondo is scored the way you score a beauty pageant: by absolutely no damn formula whatsoever. Also, the sport is odd. Can these guys even fight? In fact, we wondered if the contestants could even draw blood with their skills. Well, if their opponent is an unsuspecting referee, then hell yes they can draw blood. Angel Valodia Matos of Cuba proved it yesterday. Matos was immediately disqualified after taking more than the alotted one-minute injury time fighters are allowed and the 2000 Olympic champion did what any enraged fighter from a Communist country would do: he went after the ref.
