How big is too big for a TV to play video games on? There’s only so much detail you’re missing on a smaller TV while splattering someone’s blood in Halo. That doesn’t matter to a certain unnamed Kotaku reader who sent in the picture above. The guy sets up PC rigs and tests them the best way known to man—by playing hype ass video games on them. And with a set-up like that, the moment we laid eyes on it… man. Now we know what that business card scene in American Psycho was all about. So if you don’t mind, read about the massive TV while we return to our 20” Trinitron from 1987 to shoot some pigeons in GTA IV.
One of our readers - who would prefer to remain nameless - installs PC rigs for a living. He helped install this one, in a government office, then proceeded to do what anyone confronted by twenty-seven 67” HD monitors would do - he played a ton of BioShock and WoW on it. For reference, 27 panels equates to a display that’s 40 feet wide and 15 feet high, with a desktop resolution of, oh, 12600 × 3150.
It’s so sad that a screen of this magnitude is being used to play video games in an official government office. What does that have to do with the US of A? Nothing! They’d better make it right by watching a lot of Olympic coverage and rooting for the US Team. We think checking out the Synchronized Swimming event should be first.
