Just in case you hadn’t noticed, it’s August. And August is the month that Kobe Bryant likes to start throwing tantrums. Or, at least he enjoys ruffling some feathers with incendiary rhetoric that manages to piss off his loyal fans and/or provide more amunition for Kobe-haters. So, what in the world do you make of Kobe Bryant’s statements today? The Boston Globe recently interviewed Kobe in Beijing and asked him a simple question: would you go to Italy for $50mil? Take it away, sunshine.

“I’d go. I’d probably go,” said Bryant, during a USA Basketball press conference on Friday morning. “Like Milan or something like that, where I grew up or something like that… Peace out.” Bryant continued: “Do you know any reasonable person that would turn down 50 (million dollars)?”

Yes. Every investment banker that’s gone on to live a life that consists of scraping walnuts from his teeth, building a hut and traveling through South America because it’s more of an adventure. You know, guys that aren’t whiny millionaires.
