We’ve all been there. Humiliated, literally at the hands of some punk talking trash, reminding you not only about how much your hand-eye coordination sucks but your overall suckiness factor. That’s right, after playing a game of Madden with someone who doesn’t hold back, it could sting, but it won’t hurt (for too long)
But what if you’re the person in Madden—aka an NFL player, not Al Michaels—who sucks the most? This year that would be Buffalo Bills rookie offensive tackle Demetrius Bell, who at 53, has the lowest personal rating in the game, and was reminded of that during this pre-season. But it wasn’t one of his teammates who reminded him about it, but someone from EA. Ouch. Talk about rookie hazing… by nerds.
“I had a guy come up from NFL Madden, and he told me I was their lowest-rated player,” Bell said this week. “And I was like, ‘That’s nothing to me.’ It makes me feel even better because this time next year, I want to see what my rating is.”
Dude, you’re an offensive tackle whose coach, Dick Jauron, doesn’t even think is ready for a regular season game. Just take your 53 lumps, say thank you and wish that next year you break second-string punter numbers.
