Manny Ramirez Forgets How Manny Innings There Are In A Baseball Game

While Dodger fans have been all love with Manny Ramirez since his trade, one thing they haven’t experienced is the dread most Boston fans felt when Manny was “being Manny,” and not in a fun way. Monday night was the first time, and definitely not the last, that Ramirez stumped the LA crowd when the ninth inning started with no one in left field. The game was held up as number 99 was stopped from heading to the locker room because he thought Joe Torre had taken him out of the game because he pointed at him after a good play. Here’s hoping that next time Torre pats him on the ass for a good job, he doesn’t rush out to a proctologist because he thinks it’s time to get a check up.

“I just went to the bathroom,” Ramirez said with a chuckle after Los Angeles’ 8-6 victory. “All the guys said, ‘Hey, we play nine in here.’” This time, there was a plausible explanation — sort of — for Ramirez’s brief but conspicuous absence: He thought he had been pulled from the game.
Dodgers manager Joe Torre explained that there was some miscommunication between he and Ramirez… [a]fter Ramirez was forced out at the plate in the eighth inning, Torre pointed to him from a distance as a way of congratulating the slugger for his single. But Ramirez thought that meant he was being taken out of the game for defense, so he headed up the tunnel.

Wow, it’s a sight to see the old Manny catch up to the new and improved Manny. Apparently crazy takes some time to acclimate itself to West Coast time after living on the east for so long.
