A Swedish designer/illustrator named Olle Hemmendorff created this visual ode to Nike by using the greatest damn sandwich in the history of the world as inspiration: the hamburger. Olle and seven other designers were commissioned by Nike to come up with a design that would have people salivating over sweatshop created products and this is what they came up with.
In the tradition of material innovation of AM 90, I constructed a running shoe using the most powerful, most durable and most delicious material known to man: hamburger.’
The design is the “Air Max 90” and it’s a brilliant piece of artwork until some rabid vegetarian-sweatshop-hating-hippie decides to eat the sculpture in protest of Nike’s questionable production ways. We can totally envision a ketchup touting protester.
