Say It Isn't So: Manchester City Want Gimpy Ronaldo.

There’s something wrong with a soccer club when they continue to justify a player’s worth by dismissing the player’s current status in exchange for marveling at his past feats. It’s like trying to pitch a movie studio a script involving Steven Seigel and Chuck Norris together because they were once big. (Hm. Interesting. /Writes in notebook.) That’s the case with English club Manchester City, who aren’t shy about revealing their interest in one severely injured Brazilian named Ronaldo.

City boss Mark Hughes has been kept fully informed of the movements for Ronaldo.

And Sparky has been assured he would have the final say.

Hughes knew before he took the job that City wanted a famous name to boost the commercial side.

Cook said: “We told Mark not to come if he thought we didn’t need a superstar.

“Mark’s comment was: ‘We should all challenge ourselves. We should all challenge ourselves to do things differently as that’s what makes a difference.’

“He wants to challenge himself to manage the best in the world.

“He is a big character and is very good at taking young talent and bringing them on. He has never managed the big star.”

This thing on? Ok. Hey, Manchester City. Ronaldo hasn’t been a star since the Autumn of 2003. Kthxbye. /Waves to crowd. Now we can all mock Manchester City comfortably for the next few weeks.
