Dimitar Berbatov's Bible Is His Path To Holiness... Wait, We Thought That Was Bringing A Title To Old Trafford?

Dimitar Berbatov’s departure to Manchester United from Tottenham last month sent shockwaves through the league. Not so much because of the trade itself, but the fact that it actually got done. Seriously, it took all of the offseason and a couple of weeks into it to dot the i’s for Berbatov to move. But while most are saying the Bulgarian striker will bring even more strength to the forward spot with Cristiano Ronaldo, the man himself is saying his biggest asset is that his attitude won’t be a burden to the team. Why? Because he’s a man of God, that’s why.

“I’ve done many stupid things because of my stubbornness, only because I didn’t want to listen to my parents’ advice. And then it always turned out that they were right.”
“Besides, I am religious and I take The Bible everywhere with me. There are many good pieces of advice for those like me in The Bible.” Berbatov also says that bad language is not something he indulges in either.
“This is a matter of good upbringing. I don’t swear in my daily life,” he added. “I try to do everything with style - not only in football. And if I manage to give any positive examples then that is great.”

Pretty haughty words from a man who sulked on the Tottenham bench for five months until he got traded to his preferred team—essentially the equivalent of holding your breath until mumsy and pop-pop buy you that pony you wanted. That $70 million pony. So yeah, Ye shall lead by example and all that… but with Ronaldo on that team, maybe it is a perfect situation for him.
