If there was ever a better combo of burrito snobs in the world, it’s the dudes at Machochip. Oh yeah. Two California kids terrorizing every single burrito from NorCal to SoCal? Por fa. So when we caught word that NYC’s “BurritoVille” took its last dump sometime this month…we rejoiced exuberantly! Because NYC does Mexican food the way Hugo Chavez engages in diplomacy: all wrong! From Gothamist:
A tipster wondered if local Mexican chain BurritoVille had gone bankrupt, seeing as how their website now redirects to Google. We’ve spent the last few minutes frantically trying to get someone, anyone on the phone at the various BurritoVille locations around town, with no success. A call to BSI Corp., which seems to be the corporate owner, did get answered, however. When asked if we had reached BurritoVille, the man told us, “Not anymore.” He said they closed last week and would not provide any further information.
So people probably lost their $8.50 per hour jobs and we’re sorry for that. But the demise of mediocre burritos is a winning situation for all of us. Que no, chavos? High-five?

Holy crap!!! Why do places like these last longer than Taqueria Matamoros on Bedford? Maybe it’s because the hipsters keyed in and got themselves their very own black-flag logo inspired taco truck: Endless Summer.

I actually loved this place. Vegetarian heaven and ˆ’m sad to see it go. What it may have lacked in authenticity, it certainly made up for in range, healthiness and mm mmm damn goodness.
